Hens and Chicks

I was really drawn to paint these lovely Hens and Chicks while dogsitting for a friend in Boulder Creek, CA. This gorgeous plant lived on their patio, where I was inspired to paint it in watercolor first, then when I got back to Ohio I found it again as a reference photo and gave it another whirl in acrylics. I'm guessing it's the allure of the Fibonacci spiral and the delicate color variations that captured my interest!
